Questions About Us
The questions guests ask most often about the hotel itself: who runs it, how it operates, and what it is like to work here. For booking and arrival questions, the FAQ on our home page covers those.
What kind of hotel is Constellare?
Eight rooms and suites in a single restored building, run directly by the people who own it. There is no group behind us, no brand standard to comply with, and no head office setting the rates. Every decision about the building, the menu, and the service is made by the team you meet when you arrive.
Who actually runs the hotel day to day?
Constellare is independently owned and operated. The general manager is on site most days, and the same team runs the front desk, the restaurant, and housekeeping rather than sitting under separate contractors. Average tenure across the front of house is over four years, which is why returning guests get recognised.
How is a stay here different from a larger hotel?
Scale, mostly. With eight rooms we can hold a table, remember a preference, or change a plan without escalating it, and anyone on shift can waive a late checkout or move a booking without finding a manager. What we cannot offer is a conference floor, a loyalty scheme, or a lobby that stays busy at two in the morning.
How do you approach sustainability?
Practically rather than performatively. Linen is changed on request rather than daily, the kitchen buys within the region and writes the menu around what arrives, and the building runs on a renewable tariff. We have removed single-use bathroom bottles entirely rather than asking guests to reuse towels while replacing them every morning.
What is it like to work at Constellare?
Roles are salaried rather than zero-hours, tips are pooled and paid out in full, and rotas are published a fortnight ahead. We train people across departments so a job here is not a single narrow role. Current openings are listed above, and we are glad to hear from people who do not yet see a role that fits.
